Approved Contractor Status for Northern Ireland

SIA regulation in Northern Ireland came into effect on December 1st 2009 after which it became illegal to work in certain designated roles in Northern Ireland without a licence.  An SIA licence is now required for each different licensable activity undertaken as follows; Cash and Valuable in Transit, Close Protection, Door Supervision, Public Space Surveillance (CCTV), Security Guarding, Key Holding and Immobilisation, restriction and removal of vehicles.

Our office in Belfast is pleased to announce that following the rigorous application process Axis Security now holds Approved Contractor Status for Security Guarding, Key Holding, Public Space Surveillance (CCTV), and Door Supervision.

Jonathan Levine - Group Managing Director of Axis Security commented that this initiative to have one regulator and one licensing scheme ensures that the Northern Ireland public can now enjoy a more professional and trusted private security industry which has already proven beneficial following the introduction of SIA licensing in 2006 throughout the rest of the UK.
