We are delighted to announce that following an in depth audit process, Axis Security have been awarded (from 2 February 2009) the environmental accreditation ISO:14001
Carbon Footprint Offsetting
The Axis Security CSR & Environmental policies, commit us to amongst other things, ensuring that any negative impact that our business activities have upon the environment are offset. We are therefore pleased to report following an assessment, that our carbon footprint is in fact very low. We have therefore decided to not only offset our carbon footprint by donating funds to a suitable organisation, but to donate funds that cover our carbon footprint fivefold.
Our donation has gone to the Ecuadorian Rainforest Reforestation Project in Cachya Riobamba. This project is involved in rebuilding, replenishing and sustaining the rainforest ecosystems in the Andes. We are also proud to announce that one of our employees – Lorna Waldron - has taken a three month sabbatical from Axis Security ‘to get her hands dirty’ and is currently high in the Andes working on the project as a volunteer.
Axis Managing Director Jonathan Levine commented, “Although Lorna fulfils an important role at Axis, I am delighted that she is actively participating in this project and am happy for her to take extended leave for such a worthwhile cause”.
