The Axis People Strategy developed by Naomi Austen, has assisted in the business’ success over the past three years, including being awarded the ‘Employee Engagement Award’ at the 2020 Institute of Customer Service Awards. The 10-point People Strategy continues to evolve based on which direction our business is heading and, since March 2020, we have had to adapt it to ensure COVID responsibilities were dealt with effectively. In our industry of key workers, communication, engagement, and welfare are vital and our People Strategy continues to make Axis one of the top security companies in the UK and is one of the leading reasons why clients want to work with us.
Naomi has worked hard to ensure the People Strategy and its effectiveness is tracked through employee surveys and questionnaires. It is also tracked through HR processes like employee suggestions and senior management walkarounds - a method that has become one of the most integral ways of receiving feedback, with staff appreciating the interaction with senior management. We use various social media channels, helping the company to engage a wider audience about our corporate social responsibility activities, employee charity events and praise the great work of our staff who perform to the highest levels every day.
Naomi has been fundamental in directing investment into the Axis Academy, the learning and development arm of the company. The Academy designs bespoke courses for our business and is highly accredited to ensure quality. Any profit is used to pay for our learning management system and to continue to develop courses and further support our clients and their learning needs.
HR actively encourages innovation and idea-sharing across both front-line and back-office employees, and for any issues to be raised and heard. This helps give everyone a voice and to feel integral to the company and its success.
