Congratulations to Farzad Akbari, Security Officer, at Brunel House. Nominated by Neil Eley, South West Account Support Manager.
Farzad was on his evening shift when he came across a male individual on camera who appeared to have fallen off his bike and was potentially sporting some form of injury. During this time, Farzad attended to the gentleman in question and discovered that he was having a seizure. Upon seeing this, he acted accordingly, alerting emergency services while co-ordinating staff who had also noticed the incident from a nearby train station. Farzad remained with the male until the emergency services arrived. During this time, Farzad demonstrated empathy and provided reassurance to the male as he became more alert.
The gentleman, who was a member of the public and not a tenant of the building, was admitted to hospital. Farzad ensured his bike was placed securely into storage within the building so it was safe and available for him to collect at a later date.
Once out of the hospital, the individual returned to the site to collect his bike. He praised the actions of Farzad for attending to him so vigilantly and making sure his property was taken care of in the interim.
“Professionally speaking, I cannot say enough about Farzad, he is a thoughtful individual that demonstrates a strong sense of initiative. Although not a regular feature of the team at Brunel, Farzad has integrated into the team incredibly well, understanding the day-to-day operations and responsibilities of the building.
Brunel is a vastly populated office building and can be an overwhelming site. However, Farzad has always taken it in his stride with no task being too big or inconvenient, regardless of shift pattern – he is always more than happy to get involved and does so frequently, without being prompted. Farzad is one of the most proactive professionals I have had the pleasure of working alongside and regardless of Brunel not being his permanent site, his knowledge which is both vast and rich in content, is applied and adjusted perfectly to this site.
He is a valuable security officer to the Axis security organisation, and I would like to personally extend my thanks and gratitude for the admirable work that Farzad puts into the role, which has been clearly demonstrated whilst dealing with this incident.”
