It’s important to recognise the value of individual officers who are on the front line, who perform their duties beyond what is expected of them. The ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Awards sets out to reward those individuals.
12 security officers who were selected by sponsors of the ACS Pacesetters Awards, together with clients who nominated them were invited to attend a celebratory lunch at Royal Windsor Racecourse on 20th May.
Hamed Aminaeeamameh, Axis Security Officer, was Axis’ acclaimed guest, and Howard Clark, Support Services Manager of Sadler’s Wells was the client. Hamed was nominated due to his vigilance on site that resulted in a woman being reported for suspicious behaviour. “The information Hamed collected was compiled into an investigative report and passed over to counter-terrorism officers at the Metropolitan Police,” Howard explains. “He helped to prevent a potentially life-threatening event, and his actions and report was highly commended by the Counter-Terrorism Unit, particularly since the suspicious visitor was already deemed ‘a person of interest’ to the Police.”
The event followed the Theatre stepping up its security alert level after the Paris terror attacks in November 2015. “It emphasises the excellent job that Axis’ officers are doing at Sadler’s Wells,” Howard continues. “Their alertness and vigilance at all times ensures the safety of employees and visitors to the theatre.”
Congratulations to a very deserving winner and well done to the other 11 winners on the day.
ACS Pacesetters chosen charity this year was Medical Detection Dogs with special guest speaker Sue Surbey and Casper the dog. Over £1000 was raised on the day which will go towards helping train Cancer Detection and Medical Alert Assistance Dogs.
